What Do People Like To Read These Days?

First of let’s start with the percentages of what genres Blake students like to read. In third place is (drumroll please)... Mystery! At 11 kids putting it as their favorite genre to read. In second place is Fantasy with 20 kids, and in first place is…Romance at 21 kids! When you put the percentages together (10.6% for Mystery, 19.2% for Fantasy, and 20.2% for Romance) the total is exactly 50%. The only other genres that came close to 3rd were Sports (7.7%), Sci-fi (6.7% not a joke), Graphic Novel (6.7% still not a joke), and Horror (4.8%). Blake students really like to read. Over 60% of Blake students have said that, on a scale of one to ten (ten being the highest, one being the lowest) that they are a 7 or up. That’s over 60 % of the one-hundred and five students that answered the favorite book survey (Ms. Nussbaum and Ms. B.A. must be proud).
