The Grammys were all about fun this year. Over 17 million people watched the Grammys, 34% up from last year. Let’s get you in on the fun.
Before we get started, famous singer Celine Dion triumphantly returned to the stage after struggling with her stiff person syndrome and announced that she was hopeful that she’d be able to perform again. The singer also announced that a documentary was coming out called “I Am: Celine Dion.”
Following her announcement was a history-making win from Taylor Swift with her fourth album-of-the-year win, “Midnights.” The singer is currently doing her famous “The Eras Tour” and dating Travis Kelce, a well-known tight-end of the Kansas City Chiefs, who have won the Super Bowl. Swift also had quite a surprising announcement to make a new album called “The Tortured Poets Department” coming out on April 19, 2024. All of the Swifties out there were completely shocked!
Next, we have the Rap Album of the Year, won by rapper Killer Mike. The rapper’s album is called “Michael.” After he won the award, something shocking happened. The police arrested him because he supposedly pushed a female security guard to the ground and also injured her.
Next, we have the Song of the Year, won by “What Was I Made For?” by Billie Eilish. This song showed up in the famous Barbie movie. Eilish says this song is about the haunting track that speaks to finding meaning and purpose, which correlates to the part where it plays in the movie “Barbie.”
Next, the New Artist Award, won by Victoria Monét. The singer became famous by releasing her single “On My Mama” followed by her critically acclaimed debut album Jaguar II.
Lastly, the Grammy Award for the Best African Music Performance, won by Tyla. Tyla rose to fame with her famous song “Water,” which entered the top ten in sixteen countries, including the United Kingdom and the United States.
That’s it from the Top 5 Grammy Awards! I hope you enjoyed it and look for more awards won during the Grammys!
