The VMAs

The VMAs (Video Music Awards) this year were amazing. We had a lot of great performances and a lot of new artists. However, not everyone could watch the whole thing, so here are the highlights.

The Video of the Year went to Taylor Swift for her music video Fortnight, featuring Post Malone. The 5 other nominees were Ariana Grande for We Can’t Be Friends, Billie Eilish for Lunch, Doja Cat for Paint the Town Red, Eminem for Houdini, and SZA for Snooze. The Artist of the Year went to Taylor Swift, with Ariana Grande, Bad Bunny, Eminem, Sabrina Carpenter, and SZA as the other nominees. Song of the Year went to Sabrina Carpenter’s Esspresso, with Beyoncé’s TEXAS HOLD ‘EM, Jack Harlow’s Loving On Me, Kendrick Lamar’s Not Like Us, and Taylor Swift’s Fortnight as other nominees. On MTV’s website for the VMA’s, it says Benson Boone was nominated, but it didn’t have any song under it, I’m assuming it was for his song Beautiful Things.

Best New Artist went to Chappel Roan, with Gracie Abrams, Shaboozey, Teddy Swims, and Tyla as other nominees. Finally, Song of the Summer went to Taylor Swift for Fortnight. The other nominees were Ariana Grande for We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love), Benson Boone for Beautifull Things, Billie Eilish for Birds of a Feather, Chappel Roan for Good Luck, Babe!, Charlie xcx and Billie Eilish for Guess, Eminem for Houdini, Future, Metro Boomin and Kendrick Lamar for Like That, GloRilla and Megan Thee Stallion for Wanna Be, Hozier for Too Sweet, Kendrick Lamar for Not Like Us, Post Malone feat. Morgan Wallen for I Had Some Help, Sabrina Carpenter for Please Please Please, Shaboozey for A Bar Song (Tipsy), SZA for Saturn, and Tommy Richman for Million Dollar Baby. There are many more awards, however, if I listed them all this article would be too long.
