I know you may think waiting in line for that one roller coaster for an hour can be kind of extreme, but wait until you hear these stories. Even though everybody loves the concert, some swifties go for more than just that. Some go for the merch. There has been a said ‘merch truck’ coming to a state a day early. There have been thousands of people gathering at 2:30 to 5:30 in the morning in some instances just to camp out for merch. Some swifties have also shared their stories about sometimes waiting in line for 6 to 11 hours just to have the item that they want to sell out. There have been many disappointed swifties walking away with just a tote bag or sometimes nothing. One swiftie even completed their college essay because the line took that long. Another problem in the system has been people walking away with huge boxes of the tiktok viral ‘Eras crewneck’ to resell for 300 to 400 dollars on re-selling platforms like Mercari, Shopbop, and Ebay. You may be thinking why is this viral crewneck selling for $350? Well it is because of ‘tour exclusives’. Even if there is basically the same crewneck online except with a hood, people want to say I have THE crewneck. Thankfully the merch trucks now limit how many items you can get. 2 of the same item and 10 items in total per person. My surprise is that taylor swift and her merch team didn’t do this from day one to prevent this. Now that you have heard all of the mayhem about the merch here are some tips and tricks to get merch without having to risk a night of sleep. Now you don’t actually need a ticket to get merch. Even though you can’t go in the stadium without a ticket, there is a licensed merch truck outside of every stadium for those who got a ticket and those you didn’t win the ticketmaster crisis. One of the best tips is to befriend the first person in line and pay them for them to get the merch you want. As Long as you don’t care about the occasional karen yelling at you for doing this, this is the best and one of the most efficient tricks. To befriend them you can: Trade friendship bracelets from the fan project: YOYOK( Your On Your Own Kid aka a midnights song). Follow their fan account, or just paying them a lot more than what your merch costs. The second most efficient way to get the merch without waiting a long time is: getting there early. Thankfully minneapolis has around a population of 425,336 as of 2021, whereas Las Vegas (where most people has to wait for awhile for merch) has a population of 646,790 as of 2021 plus the added people coming from everywhere so merch should be slightly easier to get here in minneapolis. To know when to get to the merch truck early check local news and twitter for the opening times of your merch truck. The best time to go is about an hour before the merch truck opens so you can get in the line early. Last tip is to go to the merch truck, get your merch and head back home to get ready for the concert. Also if you would like to follow the last tip, don’t go to the merch stands inside the stadium because the US bank stadium has a strict policy of once you go in you can't come out like most other stadiums. I know what you are thinking, why don’t they just have this online? Well many angry fans have made thousands of kickstarters and gofundme's and youtube rants to try to convince the merch to get put online. Hopefully taylor swift and her team will finally understand that this merch should be put online. Finally, my opinion about the merch designs and the lines. Well I think that the designs are fine but the crewneck and the light baton are the best. I just personally think that this 6 hours waiting time thing is really insane and unprofessional. I really hope the merch goes on the website so this mayhem can stop.
