Tate McRae, 21 years old, just released her 3rd new album, So Close To What. Tate says she named it So Close To What because she wanted it to be like the process of growing up and finding balance in an uncertain world. Her songs are upbeat and catchy, making them easy to listen to in the car.
Her opening songs, “2 hands”, “it’s okay I’m okay” and “Sports car” excited fans about the new album. According to Capital UK, in “It’s Ok I’m Ok”, Tate sees a terrible ex move on with someone else but it isn’t a heartbreak song. Tate is simply happy to no longer be with him and warns his new girlfriend that he’s not the good guy he makes himself out to be. Talking to Capital, Tate said she wrote this song as herself, as opposed to some of her other songs. She said, “This song is pretty on par with my personality. This would be the one or two on the project that are pretty ‘Tate.’”
Tate is doing a tour across the UK and the US. She is performing in the Xcel Energy Center on August 13th, so for any fans, you might want to get some tickets. Some other big cities around the US where she is performing include Chicago, Boston, New York and Atlanta.
