So, singing in the shower is a myth, huh? You know, many people actually believe that. But I have done my research, and I can prove that singing in the shower is a thing. According to Science ABC.com, the main reason people sing in the shower is because it is a time when people are relaxed and their mind is free from all inhibitions.

Additionally, the acoustics in bathrooms are ‘perfect for singing’, as the sound reverberates, and resonates well. Finally, many people in the music industry actually prefer singing in the shower more than they prefer singing on stage, even if they are paid to sing onstage. When you think about it, a shower is one of the few times per day when a person is alone and at peace. It is also far from the worries of the world. This isolated period of time-even if it is just for a minute, can bring out the musician in a person. Many scientists and experts believe that singing in the shower is like an infusion of a perfect tranquilizer with dual benefits, such as soothing the nerves and elevating the spirits. People generally do not sing when they are feeling down, but in a bathroom, they are enclosed in a warm and safe environment. Our minds are free from everything that they might be thinking in front of other people. Therefore, a bathroom naturally becomes the ideal choice for breaking into melody, as the mind is highly relaxed. A good thing about singing in the shower is that you are never too old to sing. Research has found that singing in one’s old age in a confined place can improve the mental and oral condition. In a recent study, scientists found many benefits of singing in the shower. Strangely, this information is recorded on a site called The Singer’s Corner. According to them, people singing in the shower is because of better acoustics. The echoing effect of your voice in the bathroom adds depth and richness to your voice. On a similar note, being able to hear yourself better will improve your tone. Also, with the better acoustics in the bathroom, you don’t have to strain your voice to hear yourself. This allows you to relax your vocal chords. Thus allowing you to focus more on improving your tone and control than belting out every note.
