Should Kids Have to Participate In Some Sort of Art?

So, should kids have to participate in a type of art? Well, you tell me. If you say yes, you might think that the arts give you skills that you need in life, but it doesn’t mean you have to like them. According to Melanie Lowin, a Blake teacher, “It looks good on your college application.” If you say no, then you might think that kids should be able to make their own choices about what they do.

Kids shouldn’t have to be forced to do an art. Kids should make their own choices about their activities, no one can make one for them. Some people also just don’t have that type of talent. You need talent to be able to do an art. Also, arts aren’t useful in the real world. Kids should spend their time doing more useful things.

Even if you’re not an “Art person,” it’s still good to know how music works, know some techniques of drawing and painting, and also be able to go onstage in front of people. Even if you’re not an “Art person,” you still need to learn about the Arts because they will assist you in your life. They are also relaxing, and relieve stress.
