NFL Powerhouse Players And Teams

Photo:
The NFL season is kicking off (we are writing this late september), and there are some surprising power house players and teams, and some not so surprising. And most of the surprising players most people wouldn’t know about, so let’s talk about it.
Puka Nacua. This kid is special. He had the most receptions by a rookie in a game ever!! in his second game, with 15. He single handedly propelled the Rams to losing by one possession to one of the best teams in the league (the 49ers). He is putting Matthew Stafford back on the map. As of September 27th, Puka Nacua has the fourth most receiving yards in the NFl, with 338. Alongside the other part of his underrated wide receiver duo (Tutu Atwell), this Rams offense could be dangerous.
Tua Tagovailoa. He’s popped off in the first three games of the season having 8 touchdowns. His league leading 1,024 passing yards being one of the best quarterbacks in the league so far. His top two receivers are Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill. The two speed brothers, have combined for 33 receptions and 576 receiving yards. He led his team to a HUGE 70-20 victory over the Denver Broncos, and maybe that is signifying that this is no ordinary team.
T.J. Watt. We knew he was going to be good. We didn’t know he was going to play this good. With a league leading 6 sacks in 3 games, this Steelers defense looks insane. He is also third in TFL’s (tackles for loss), with 5. T.J. Watt is looking like he was in his 2021 season, where he won DPOY. It is looking like he can overcome his injury last year, and have one of the greatest edge rushing seasons in NFL history.
Jordan Whitehead. He went crazy for the New York Jets in their first game against the Buffalo Bills. He had three interceptions against Josh Allen, one of the best quarterbacks in the league. His three interceptions ties him for the most in the league, and stopped Buffalo from scoring for 3 possession’s in a row. He also fueled 10 points including the game tying touchdown. If he can power the Aaron Rodgers-less jets over the Bills, who knows what the limit is.
Danielle Hunter. He is playing out of his mind. His stats are arguably the best defensive stats this season. No joke. He has a league leading 7 tackles for loss and has the 2nd most sacks, with 5.0. He is one of the most underrated players in the league this season, and is one of the few bright spots for the Vikings this season.
Tyreek Hill. This one is pretty self explanatory. Tyreek Hill is a top 2 receiver in the league and it is a fact. 4 receiving touchdowns, 25 receptions, 412 receiving yards, and the league leader in deep targets, receptions, and receiving yards, in 3 games! And he is still one of the fastest players in the league, having 2 of the 4 fastest routes in the league in week 3. Tyreek Hill is still in his prime, and he may propel the Dolphins to a playoff spot and maybe something even bigger this season.
The Dolphins. They are 3-0 after blowing out the Broncos by 50. You saw that right. They were the first team to score 70 points since 1966, which is a long time ago. The Dolphins’ running backs are splitting time with each other and both had monster games this week. The reason for this is how powerful the Dolphins’ passing game is and the linebackers go to guard them opening up huge holes for the running back.
The Lions. This team looks really good. Amon-Ra St. Brown looks like a beast, Josh Reynolds looks like an extremely serviceable piece, David Montgomery is a touchdown machine, and Jared Goff is completing nearly 70% of his passes. And that is just the offense. Aidan Hutchinson is getting to the quarterback at an insane rate, Brian Branch is playing insane, Jerry Jacobs is getting interceptions left and right, and John Kominsky is the connector in this defense. The Lions are 3-1, and if this team keeps playing like this, they could be contenders.
The 49ers. This defensive line is all time good. Nick Bosa is still playing like Nick Bosa, Dre Greenlaw is a tackle machine, and in general this defense is just as good as last year. And that is not even including the offense. Deebo Samuel is looking way better than last year, Aiyuk 129 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns in one game as of September 27th, this offensive line is still one of the best in the league, and Brock Purdy is still doing regular season Brock Purdy things. And currently the 49ers are number two in the league in power rankings. This team is special, and I think that they may make a deep deep run this year.
The Cowboys. I know they lost to the cardinals, but they look insane. Blowing out a team that made it to the divisional round last year 40-0 is outrageous. And then they beat the Jets 30-10? Joshua Dobbs played really, really well on saturday. Same with James Connor and Marquise “Hollywood” Brown did too. Also, it was one game. This cowboys defense is lockdown, and their offense is also top 10. This team is the definition of different.
The Chiefs. The Chiefs, reigning Super Bowl champions, struggled without star tight end Travis Kelce. Patrick Mahomes is looking really good this year. Rashee Rice had an outstanding first game, three catches for 29 yards and a touchdown in the Chiefs 21-20 loss against the lions. The Chiefs defense looks good this year, possibly top ten. Overall the Chiefs have huge potential this year.
The Bills. The Bills are one of the best teams in the AFC so far despite their overtime loss against the Jets in the first game of the season. Josh Allen had three interceptions in that game alone, all of them got picked by Jordan Whitehead. Stefon Diggs had a huge game against the Dolphins. He had 6 receptions for 120 yards and had 3 receiving touchdowns. Despite suffering a tough loss against the Aaron Rodgers-less Jets, the Bills look very promising this year.
