NBA Power Rankings

The NBA season is about to kick off, and some teams are ahead of the others. So right as the season starts, I’m going to make some predictions about who the best teams are in the league.

The Boston Celtics. People may have doubts because of the playoffs, but after getting Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday, there shouldn’t be many doubts. They have the best starters in the NBA, with Jrue Holiday, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, Kristaps Porzingis, and Al Horford. They also have an incredibly well rounded bench. In the past 2 years, they have made it to the ECF (Eastern Conference Finals) the past two years and the NBA finals once. Plus they just got better over the offseason. This team is insane, and they are serious contenders.

The Denver Nuggets. I physically can’t put them any lower than this. They won the championship last year, and they have the Joker. That single handedly propels them to this spot. Jokic and Jamal Murray looked invincible in the playoffs. Michael Porter Jr. also looks like an extremely serviceable 3rd option. Yes, they lost Bruce Brown and you could say that their path to the championship last year was somewhat easy, but I think this team is for real. Can they repeat what they did last year? I guess we will see.

The Milwaukee Bucks. They got Dame to put alongside Giannis. That is insane. Plus, they also have a decent supporting cast. Having Bobby Portis, Brook Lopez, and Khris Middleton alongside Giannis and Dame. They have the number 4 (Giannis Antetokounmpo) and the number 5 (Damian Lillard) scorers per game in the league last season. I think Dame will bring this spark of energy and brightness to Milwaukee that they just didn’t have last season with Jrue Holiday. I think Dame will fit alongside Giannis perfectly and bring them to the deep playoffs.

The Golden State Warriors. I have a hard time putting them much lower than this. I think Chris Paul will be the true facilitator that Golden State needed last season. Stephen Curry will also single handedly carry this team to a couple wins. Klay Thompson and Wiggins are also key pieces. And don’t shrug off that in 2022, they won the finals. They look like one of the best teams through the preseason, and I envision them being an extremely tough team to stop this season. People might have doubts that in his age 35 season Stephen Curry will regress, but that three point shooting doesn’t just go away like that. I think this team is a really serious contender and can make a deep run into the playoffs this year.

The Cleveland Cavaliers. I think Evan Mobley will take that next step this year and win DPOY (defensive player of the year). I also have really high hopes for Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen. This team was just injured so much last year that you couldn’t see the true potential of Jarrett Allen, Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley, and Darius Garland together. Even with the team being heavily injured last year, this team was still the 4 seed in the stacked Eastern Conference. I think this starting 5 competes for the best in the Eastern Conference, and I think they can really compete with the best teams in the Eastern Conference.
