What is March Madness? March Madness (The NCAA Division I men’s basketball tournament) is a single-elimination tournament of 68 teams competing in seven national championship rounds. The penultimate round is known as the Final Four, when (you guessed it) only four teams are left. There are also the Elite 8 and the Sweet Sixteen. This season's NCAA men's basketball tournament is this:

● Selection Sunday: Sunday, March 12,

● First Four: March 14-15

● First round: March 16-17

● Second round: March 18-19

● Sweet 16: March 23-24

● Elite Eight: March 25-26

● Final Four: April 1

● NCAA championship game: April 3

Every year people make predictions about who they think is going to win certain games. There are 64 teams in the women's basketball league but 68 in the men's league. You may wonder how they do a bracket with 68 teams, but they have a solution. If you look at the schedule (left) you will see that there is a first four. They are the first four teams to play and the winners advance on. In 2023 the final match in the men's bracket was between Uconn (image left) and San Diego State with the score being 59 to 76 where Uconn won. In the women's bracket, the final match was between LSU (image far left) and Iowa, in which LSU won by 17 points.
