iPhones Throughout the Years

iPhones have had a HUGE impact on people’s lives ever since they were created. This article will highlight all the iPhones Apple has released, and how they have changed throughout the years. The iPhone was invented by Steve Jobs, the co-founder and CEO of Apple. Steve Jobs originally did not like the idea of an iPhone, but he began to see it as a gadget that helps complete multiple functions into one device, something that could be very successful in the future. The original iPhone was Apple’s debut smartphone, and was released in the United States on June 29, 2007. After its release, the iPhone became one of Apple’s most successful products, making about 1.23 billion dollars! Even in the first week, Apple sold 270,000 phones.

In July of 2008, Apple released its second iPhone, the iPhone 3G. This was very similar to the original iPhone, but this one introduced the app store, where users could have a wider variety of apps they can use. The launch of the app store was a huge success, because the iPhone now had many more possibilities!

Next, in June of 2009, Apple released the iPhone 3GS. For this iPhone, Apple upgraded the camera to a 3MP autofocus camera, which made your photos look much nicer. This was also when the VoiceOver feature was installed.

In 2010, the iPhone 4 was released. Apple upgraded the screen on this iPhone to a Retina Display, which had 326 pixels per inch. This feature made it harder for users to see the individual pixels on the screen. This feature was not that huge, but Apple also added a front-facing camera to the device.

These two iPhones were the very first to have a new feature called apple pay, which is still very popular.

A year later, Apple released the iPhone 6S, and 6S plus. These two iPhones were very similar to the previous iPhone’s 6, and 6, plus. But they had a few different features. For example, these were the first iPhones to have the “hey siri” feature, allowing people to command Siri. The iPhone SE was released in March, 2016. This iPhone was less expensive than a lot of previous iPhones. This was most likely the case because it contained most of the same features that the iPhone 6’s have.

In 2016, two new iPhones were released. The iPhone 7, and 7 Plus. Along with it, the fist airpods were released. Apple added the Portrait Mode feature, which is still popular today. That was the main difference with this iPhone.

A year later, Apple released two iPhones at the same time again, iPhone 8, and 8 Plus. Apple changed the design to aluminum and glass. This allowed for wireless charging on this device.

The next year, to celebrate a decade since the original iPhone was released, Apple decided to celebrate by releasing a new phone called the iPhone X. This was a milestone for Apple, because this is when the feature Touch Idea was installed. Instead of using your fingerprint to unlock your phone, now the iPhone just has to scan your face, and it will unlock your phone.

When the iPhone xs, and xs Max were released, they eliminated the home button from the screen. They also increased the size of the phone, by making it a 6.5 inch display. Making it Apple’s largest iPhone at the time. The iPhone XR was released with the iphone xs, and xs max. It was very similar to the two, but was more budget friendly. It was the first iPhone to have a 6.1 inch screen.

In 2019, Apple released the iPhone 11 series. This series included the iPhone 11, 11 Pro, and 11 Pro Max. This drop became Apple’s first time ever releasing three iPhones at the same time.

In 2020, Apple brought back the iPhone SE! There were a few changes to this iPhone, including a bit larger and more compact design. It was the most affordable iPhone in 2020.

The iPhones in the iPhone 16 lineup include the iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, and 16 Pro Max. Some new features include a slightly larger display with 6.3 and 6.9 inches, and a Camera Control button that can be used to launch and shutter the camera app. With this button, the iPhone felt like a professional camera.
