Happy Lunar New Year! Lunar New Year is celebrated by Southeast and Eastern Asian cultures. Think of the Lunar New Year like our New Year, both celebrations are really fun. Even though no one knows what year/date these zodiac animals were invented, it is said to be approximately 206 B.C. - 9 A.D. Another tradition is an Ema plaque, which is used to write prayers or wishes. Ema translating to ‘horse picture’ is used for the plaque because horses were precious to the ancient japanese.

Decorations
There are a few different decorations you can use to decorate for the Lunar New Year. Kagami mochi is a traditional Japanese New Year decoration. It has two layers of mochi, which is made out of rice. Then, there is Mandarin on top. You can also put blossoming flowers out for a prosperous year.
