Blake Tries to Connect Both Campuses
For more than a year, Blake has been trying to connect us to the other campus. They want us to know the other students when we move to the Blake Campus. This has included a variety of events including bowling, bingo night, & field trips.
All this work might not be a success, though. At these events, “A lot of people just played with their friends,” instead of sitting with a random person they don’t know,” a fifth-grader said. Even if a Highcroft student has a good friend from BC & sits with them, they’re already friends with that kid, so Blake's work is unsuccessful.
Blake’s efforts haven’t worked. Although they are trying very hard, all their work is “Effortless. Horrible,” one fifth grader said. They said that blake could improve if “they can just have us have a field trip to the other campus.”
Another thing to ponder is why Blake decided to do this. They already accept about 9 kids to each grade and they join the Blake community just fine. 48 people aren’t that many more, especially when they already know more than half of the grade.
The reason for all of this, most likely, is that Blake is already handling a lot, including building the ELC, downsizing the school, & hiring temporary teachers, as well as the normal stuff, like getting donations, admissions, & running the school.
