Blake is Merging With Breck

Blake and Breck have agreed to merge schools into a single school called “Brake”. Teachers have decided to do this because they feel that students at Blake and Breck are not very developed socially because of the small size of the school, and believe that introducing many new students will solve this problem.

The new school will use Breck’s campus, but in order to house so many students, they need to do lots of construction. Students from both schools will be located at the Blake campus during the renovation period.

In order to house all the students, Blake will be buying back Highcroft to use as a middle school. Many students are excited about this, because it will give them a chance to re-live their days as elementary schoolers. Now everyone who went to the Hopkins campus will get a taste of what Highcroft was like.

The new mascot, Cyrus the Mustang, will be a combination of Blake’s “Cyrus the Bear” and Breck’s “Mustang”. The mascot is a bear’s head on a mustang’s body. “I think the new mascot is super cool. It reminds me of a centaur, but a bear head instead of a human head,” said one student.

Many Blake students are concerned about school uniforms. Since Breck requires a uniform, Brake will require one too. Blake students will not get to express their style through fashion anymore.
