Are Kids Ruining Sephora?

Avery’s POV:
Recently, there has been a lot of talk on social media about 10-year-olds trying to grow up too fast. I love skincare and makeup and think it’s great that they care for their skin early on. In the past year, a fan-favorite brand has been Drunk Elephant. Drunk Elephant is all the talk, from their “skincare smoothies” to their fun neon packaging. Here are some pros and cons about that.
Pros
● Kids are taking care of their skin early
● Kids are learning more about skin care early
Cons
● Kids are spending their parents hard earned money (most of the time their parents’ money)
● Kids are exposing themselves to the risk of more sensitivity
Personally, this (image below) is just disgusting. I’m already afraid to use Sephora testers alone, but doing this is disgusting and unacceptable. Drunk Elephant products range from $65-$90, some going past $90. In some way, I don’t think people should care about other kids that much, but I know it’s coming from a good place. But it’s true. 5-year-olds don’t need a $100 retinol.
Mair’s POV:
I think it's okay that kids want to use skincare at their age even though they don’t need it. I agree that kids shouldn’t use products that could ruintheir skin. Kids should be with a parent or someone over 18 to enter the store because then the kids can’t ruin the testers. Parents and Sephora addicts have been sharing stories about how annoyed they are with their kids. But in my opinion, they are being too harsh. Some think it's the parent’s fault, but I don’t. Often, it's the kids forcing the parents to do it. The parents give in to letting them buy something from going to Sephora because they know that having expensive skincare is a status symbol. Although, I don’t think kids should be using products that contain glycolic acid and retinol.
