In 5th grade, there is an influx of projects, gradually increasing during the year. It started with identity masks, then went on to rube goldberg machines, and a few months later, the town hall trial.

There were many fewer projects in 4th grade, as that time was spent on field trips. We did have some projects, though, including the winter count, women's history project, & book report.

Only about half of these projects actually strengthen our understanding of the subject. The others improve skills that will be more important in life than the subjects themselves. These include things such as creativity, working well with others, resourcefulness, leadership, public speaking, research & more.
