There is a dramatic increase in homework in 5th grade. That means at least one page of homework a day and all your unfinished school work a night, plus, reading homework, adding up to about an hour.
Luckily, reading homework has stayed at 30 minutes since third grade. Reading homework is easy compared to other homework, especially because many students would already choose to read, even if it wasn’t homework.
One day of homework in 5th grade is the same length as an entire week's worth of homework in 4th grade. Not completing homework will result in you having to sign the Expectation Binder. Three signs and your parents are notified.
“Fine” and “Good” were some of the fifth graders’ responses when asked how they feel about homework. A 5th-grade student, Sudiksha said “Add homework for those who need it.”
